I'm looking for a successful, cost-effective tone correcting product or system (serum, moisturizer, cleanser etc), with long-term effects. I suffer from hyper pigmentation due to acne scars and a bit of sun damage. Please only respond based on personal experience. Thank you in advance.

I'd suggest asking Traci or Shelley - they always give excellent skincare advice!

I use Isomers Dark spot liberator at night and retinol and a vitamin c serum in the daytime then spf 30 daily you can pick one to start with and work the others in overtime also exfoliating with a Alpha hydroxy acid or enzyme exfoliater weekly will help

@Traci I'm currently using Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging face wash, which has alphahydroxy acids, arginine, glycolic and salicylic acids (with clarisonic). I believe there's some vitamin c as well. I'm also using Peter Thomas Roth Dragons Blood Serum and the sheer max SPF 30 oil free moisturizer. I'm looking for specific brightening brands. I've looked into Dr. Brandt, Origins, Dermalogica and a few others but am looking for personal experiences. I'm considering going a little lower scale and trying the Olay Tone Correcting system. Boots was one that I looked into as well. Thanks for the feedback.

Well I have personal experience with all of the things I mentioned Isomers Dark spot liberator is a brand I use and recommend to clients and I have used every brand you have mentioned unless you use something that's medical grade your not going to get a dramatic brightening of the skin and using a cleanser with Aha is fine but it's washed down the sink, it's better to use his peel pads along with the cleanser, hyperpigmentation goes down layers deep under the skin depending on how severe it is so no topicals are going to give you overnight results you can try using a retinol serum as well roc for drugstore or Peter Thomas roth retinol are good starts.

Thank you. I know skin care and repair is something that does not happen overnight, it's just that I've been battling these issues for a while. My skin is very fair so the discoloration is obvious. I didn't have troubled skin until I reached my later 20's and am taking anti-aging precautions now. What do you recommend for long term effects?

Other thank vit c and retinol? Should I get peels? I'm also taking 5,000 mcg if biotin daily and 6,600 mg of collagen types 1&3 (or 2), which also contains vitamin c. I notice my face is not as oily and feels smoother and like it can breath better but not noticing much difference in my dark spots.
Thanks again!

Well a peel can definitely help and really if you don't mind seeing a dermatologist Retin a can also help medical grade skincare will be a lot more effective than anything you can buy otc hun
