I usually use Clinique but it doesn't do muck for my skin besides dry it up! I have pretty bad cystic acne on my forehead and get pimples on my chin, cheeks, and some on my forehead. Has yes to tomatoes worked for any of you?(I heard it was for acne) any other skincare brands? I want to start using less abrasive products on my face.

Oh I love the Yes To Tomatoes skincare :) The cleanser and Daily Balancing Moisturizer are just fabulous. I think they are very nourishing for the skin but they don't contain ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salycilic acid. When I used it I didnt have bad cystic acne, I only had the occasional pimple. So I don't know if it will help for you. Other products I would suggest are Cetaphil daily cleanser and moisturizer. Cetaphil is really gentle on the skin and I find that it has really helped my skin. So either Yes To Tomatoes or Cetaphil, they're both great. I would stay away from Neutrogena and Clean&Clear, they have been pretty abrasive on my skin.

I have used the yes to tomatoes line but I wasn't very impressed with it. I also have cystic acne/pimples and, honestly, I thought that skin care line made my acne worse. I highly suggest Kate Somerville's skin care line though! I've been using her stuff for about a month now and I have noticed such a big difference in my skin. If you have a Sephora by you go ahead and stop in and the people there should be able to tell you more about it. :) Good luck!

Yeah I guess the Yes To Tomatoes only works if you have mild acne.

My bf for fighting acne has been the Dermalogica line.

I would say that if you have cystic acne, nothing from a drug store will really be all that helpful and you should see a dermatologist. You don't want to delay treating it because it can leave really bad scars that are almost impossible (and expensive) to get rid of. Most OTC stuff has similar ingredients (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, etc) so if you've already tried products with them, a new product with the same ingredients may not make much of a difference.

Try Oxy face washes they have varying levels of benzoyl peroxide they will take your acne out! Also SeaRx has a FANTASTIC microdermabrasion scrub that works wonders on my skin!

Check out American Academy of Dermatology website. They post pics of different types of acne for both adults and teens. Different types of acne require specific treatments to best eradicate or reduce the situation. Use the visit to the dermo as a last resort because they can be pricey if your insurance doesn't cover it. If you could locate a well-qualified esthestician they are best line of defense because they touch/see skin all day long and much longer than your standard dermo visit. A really good product that has produced some pretty great results is topical retinoic acid which is a form of vitamin A. This can be found at the drugstore price point and at Sephora & ULTA. If you go route I would start at the lowest percentage available because the stuff is powerful and if misused it can do more harm than good.
