I bought some coconut oil but I have no idea what it's good for, skin and beauty-wise. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I use it as a hair treatment, I heat it into an oil and put it all over my hair along with my other oils and put on a shower cap and leave it for however long I feel like it, but at least 45 minutes, then wash it out with my regular shampoo and conditioner and it's like a miracle worker for my hair.

Make sure if you're using it on hair don't put it in the roots (my hairdresser told me this I think it makes it greasy?)

Oil is going to make your hair greasy regardless lol. It's oil, oil is greasy. I put it all over my hair. As long as you wash your hair correctly, you'll be fine.

I use it as a hair mask, mix it with sugar for a body scrub, cuticle oil, eye makeup remover, moisturizer for knees and elbows (especially during this cold weather) (:

I do the same thing as shanae, I put on a plastic shower cap and keep it on overnight, then in the morning shampoo twice and conditioner, also its a good& gentle makeup remover, it works well with waterproof things& things that are hard to get off, but like jacqlyn said it might break you out, it doesn't break me out but everyone's different so just try that out sometime and see how it works :)

If you use it just to remove makeup then wash it away with your cleanser I'm sure it shouldn't affect breakouts too badly though, but test it out just to make sure :)

I like mixing it with sugar too as a body scrub. I used to use it as a face moisturizer but it does nothing in my opinion and it made me break out easier. I also would rather use a deep conditioner targeted for hair rather than using the coconut oil.

Although some people break out from it, I sometimes will use it as an eyes makeup remover and when my skin is super dry an all over makeup remover. I don't break out but that's just me

I use it to shave sometimes as well, it takes done getting used to, but it conditions as you shave, and leaves your skin feeling very soft.

I have coconut oil as well. I use it for a hair conditioning product instead of those expensive hair salon ones. Get some of your oil and melt it in the microwave then apply it all over your hair focus on the ends if you have split ends. I also use it on my eye lashes and eyebrows to help them grow more. Its also good for dry skin!
