So I could just get a trim and keep going back for trims every 3 weeks or so? Atm I wash my hair every second day because I find it getting greasy on the second day, I use argan oil at the minute but it doesn't seem to do much for me, it makes it a little bit softer though which is great, I'd just hate the thought of getting it cut when I've been growing it for so long 😕

Morrocan oil do a really good products for dry hair and damaged hair! They do a hydrating hair mask and a restorative hair mask I have used the hydrating one and it works wonders! It's so good and I use it maybe 3-4 times a month and after a few times like 3 times using I could see results! I would definitely recommend it!

I would do some research on Yelp for a seriously reputable salon. Then, I'd consult them about an initial trim...then set up a microtrim schedule. I always did my microtrims every 6-8 weeks...when I got my color done.
One product, such as oil alone, isn't going to make a huge difference, in my personal view. I think it's a regimen...using certain products in unison that mesh together to help keep hair healthy while you trim away damage. What you'll see is an initial trim that may be more than you care for, but it doesn't have to be drastic. That initial trim will help keep your hair smoother and less frizzy. The follow ups (if necessary) will just be trimming the very ends the same amount that you have in growth. Once all of the damage is gone, you will then..and only then...see an increase in length again. Obviously your hair grows crazy long and so that's a bonus.

Il ask my salon next time I'm in if they'd be able to do that for me, sounds great, you're the only person who's telling me not to get it cut lol, so what would you recommend I use along with the jojoba/argan oil? So the first trim I get il be getting a lot off it and then the follow ups will only be a little trim each time?

I would let an experienced Master stylist evaluate my hair's condition and advise on what the minimum you can take off would be that would make a significant difference while on a microtrim plan. It's important that the stylist know that your goal long-term is to work with microtrims. They'll let you know if it's an option and a Master Stylist will be very familiar with the practice.
My personal suggestions for specifics would be:
For Shampoo: Anything Sulfate free. I love the Pravana line and Pureology.
For Conditioner: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp;jsessionid=w2W5ImuJwN7vRhn5ZjocrqPQ.pr-a2-app1?productId=xlsImpprod6500335
For Leave In Conditioner: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod6500349
I'd use that with Redken Anti-Snap. LOVE it!
For Deep Conditioning: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod6330221 Another really great one is the Aussie 3-Minute Miracle
Alternate Deep Conditioning: A Macadamia Nut Mask (Sally Beauty Supplies carries them)
I love how my Wet Brush helps reduce snapping and breakage and so if you don't have one, I'd definitely pick one up. They run around $5 and are available at most retailers. Avoid that heat and hot water as much as possible. If you need to use heat, it's crucial you use a heat protection product. Keep lightly oiling those ends...just a tad and I currently use Matrix Dry Shampoo.
I can only speak from past, personal experience and the advice my own stylist (a dear friend) has shared with me. Best of luck to you! :)

I had incredibly dead dry hair, and I had to clench my teeth and just cut 4 inches off. I've been using mane n tale shampoo and conditioner, and don't get me wrong it's definitely strengthen my hair and made it grow faster but it's given me bad dandruff which never used to be a problem. My hair was still dry and frizzy, so I did my research and olive oil, eggs, and mayonnaise is a great hair mask! I tried it, and even though it smelled TERRIBLE I did magic on my hair after only one time. My hair was left shiny, soft and hydrated. Lately I've been using coconut oil which is suppose to be great but I've only used it once, so far it's made my hair pretty soft, but no other results yet.

I had the exact same problem where I've dipped dyed it an it went all hay like, and horrible, even though I still kept it like that for a year, but then 4 weeks ago I had to get it all cut off up to my shoulders which I hated but nothing worked for me to get my healthy hair back, so once I cut it off I used a shampoo called alpecin for the past 4 weeks and I can notice a big difference since my hair is below my bra strap on my back and my hair isn't falling out as much as it used to, it's only £7 and found in drug stores, and I also recommend hair masks!
