So over the summer I lightened my hair with sun in and now my roots are terrible and I want to just diy it back to normal. How many shades darker should I go to even it out?

I'm no expert, but it really only looks like you're one or two shades off. I'd wait for a better opinion, but I'm keeping track of this for my sister's sake.

If you want to even out your hair color, I would suggest dying it darker and matching it up with your roots.
I tend to get my hair color at Sally's because that way you make your own mixes and make sure to use 10 volume developer because your only going to deposit color and not lift. Always remember that after dyeing your hair its important to keep it hydrated especially your ends.

Wow i used to do the sun in 5 years ago! My hair turn supet light brown with that but i dyed it jet black after 2 years with sun in. I suggest you dye it ash brown to settle down the brightness or just go dark brown or even black. What ever tare you like in darkness
