For mineral makeup I would recommend the bare-minerals kabuki/handy kabuki brush. It is soft, gives as little or much coverage as you want, and not one hair has fallen out and I have had it for a year. For liquid I would recommend the benefit foundation brush, it goes on smoothly not streaky and so far I love it!
