It's been like this for a few months now, dry, flaky, and peeling. my face is also very red but every time I try to put foundation on it the flakes become more obvious and look bigger. I've tried moisturizer, olive oil overnight, coconut oil, a primer, exfoliating, oil cleansing, nothing really works. please help :(

You need to hydrate :) drinking lots and lots of water helped me! Sometimes it's internally that brings the results!

A week ago my skin was peeling due to tanning and after a week my skin was fine. Let it peel on its on. Apply any lotion on ur face thats good for dry skin. I would apply it like 5 times a day. Sometimes more. Dont put any makeup! It'll make it worst and try not washing ur face to much bcause water will make it more dry. Hope i helped :)

I agree with Elise- First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream. There is a small size for $12 at sephora. It's specially formulated for people with dry, flakey skin due to excema or other conditions. It is amazing!

Always keep your face hydrated and try using hydration masks once a week. Drinking lots of water also helps with dry skin.

What's your cleanser? If it foams, that's your problem right there. I also have über dry skin. I normally use a cream cleanser, but my skin has been so dry this winter I switched to an oil cleanser in November. I am very pleased with the results.
Also, I did a blog post on winter skin fixes. I have loads of tips for dry skin....

Keep exfoliating with something not too harsh, like a mix of sugar & olive oil , BUT most of all KEEP YOURSELF HYDRATED!!
If the problem persists, go see an esthetician.. They will be able to help figure out the problem and a solution! :)
