Hair growth questions?

So I've been trying to grow my hair out for 4-5 years. I cut it to my chin (horrible idea) and quickly decided I wanted my long hair back (it was around my bust). I know hair growth is all genetics and health but everyone in my family's hair grows super fast and for some reason mine doesn't. My hair is very healthy (no heat, dye, sulfates, and I get it professionally trimmed every 9-13 weeks) it's thick and wavy. I'm basically asking if my hair will ever grow, it's been around the same length( mid-bust) for the past 6 months - a year. Will my hair ever grow or is there anything I can do to get it to grow?

I'm not sure, maybe you could try some hair masks every so often.

Maybe talk to you doctor to run blood work see if you need some vitamins.

Have you ever had very long hair before? Because there's a limit to how long it will grow.
Since it took you 4-5 years to grow it up to your bust it sounds like that's your limit and you're a slow grower

I'm growing my hair out too and it's up to my bust now. I can't tell any difference in length anymore but I know it can grow to my butt so I'm not stressing

Since you're healthy don't worry about it. Even if your (I assume immediate) family has faster hair growth it doesn't mean you will since genetics is tricky like that like with skipped generations

You could try some vitamins specifically for hair!! I know they have some for hair and nails!

I would definitely highly stress you speak with you doc before taking any kind of vitamins.

I agree with M G, don't take anything without consulting your doctor, it could result in negative affects, both externally and internally.

I don't really think there is anything to make it grow any faster. Just keep it healthy. I read a thread where someone mentioned that on some people your hair just will stop growing even when it's been past the length that it has stopped growing at. It's really weird but hair can stop growing. Oh and definitely ask your doctor before talking any type of pill like M G and Shanae said.

I know lee stafford makes a hair mask for "hair that won't grow past a certain point" I'm not too certain on how well it works, though I've seen some good results through YouTube and reviews so perhaps you could try something like that.

You should cut down on how much styling you do to your hair. The reason your hair is falling out is because your literally killing it. Now, I don't mean you can't do anything to your damaged hair. When you do use heat or blow dry, use a heat protectant before styling. When blow drying, try using the lowest setting or the cool button. I don't feel like it is necessary to blow dry every time you shower. If you're staying home, let it naturally air dry. What kind of shampoo and conditioner do you use? I use Moroccan Aragon Oil 360 Moisture from Avon. It has made a HUGE difference in my hair, and I rarely use heat. I also use One n' Only Aragon Oil Leave-In Conditioner. You can get this at Sally Hanson. It's one of their cheapest, I believe, yet it is so amazing! I just ran out and I can feel the difference without it. I find that if you wring out your hair before conditioning, it helps dramatically! Leave every product you use in the shower in you hair for about ten minutes to get the best results. To have your hair look healthier and shine, try rinsing with, as cold as you can handle, cold water. This stops frizz and makes your hair silkily shine! I go back to you saying that your hair falls out. Mine used to a lot and I had to empty my brush nearly every day. Would you run a brush through a piece of silk? No, that would be ridiculous, right? Visually, as your hair is wet, it relates to silk. Let it dry, or I find it better to just allow it to become damp. That where the One n' Only Leave-In Conditioner locks in the moisture. If you have to brush it or you're in a hurry, use a wide tooth comb! A brush damages your hair when it is wet. If your hair is just so damaged and you need some more help, there are pills out there. I would recommend a Hair, Skin, and Nails Vitamin. The most important solution for every problem in the world is water! I was never one to just be satisfied with water, and I'll admit, I'm still not. But, with multiple health problems, it has helped me well. The average person is supposed to drink eight glasses of water a day! That's insane to me. I recommend, and going to do, is get a refillable bottle. I'm going to make lines and put a time on each line of when that much needs to be drunken. I hope this helps!
