I had minor surgery on the top of my nose last week and now have a red scar, my doctor was very very vague on how to heal the scar for cosmetic reasons so I was wondering if anyone knew any tips on helping to reduce the scar left on my nose ( I can't post a pic as it's in a plaster ) thank you guys x ALSO- does bio oil actually help?

I had to get stitches on my face when I was younger and I just made sure to out sunscreen on it because the sun could turn it a purpleypink color when it heals.

I don't have any surgical scars but I cut my angle open when I was young and had to have it stitched. I have used bio oil on it for about two years (on and off) I found that it really does help. Just check with you doctor how soon you can apply something like that to a fresh scar. Also because it is on you face just be carful if you have oily or sensitive skin because it might break you out

I have surgery scars on my knee and just regularly moisturising and being out in the sun has helped them fade a bit :) but scars fade very slowly. I had my op at the beginning of june and my scars are still at that pinky/purple stage.

I've had surgery on my face before, and my surgeon told me to use pure vitamin e cream or oil (I used cream as an all over moisturizer) and I also used bio oil :) it worked really well!
