Hey loves'
So I've been using the MAC Prolongwear concealer underneath my eyes, for about a month now &&' recently I've been noticing that it has been getting cakey once I apply setting powder over it.
My question is, how do you ladies apply it.? &&' which powder do you set with.?
Before it really didn't seem like a problem but now it happens every time.
I'd really appreciate your help. 😘

I apply it with my fingertips and then use my damp beauty blender to blend and set it with banana powder and an elf blush brush! Works great for me!

That concealer can be a bit drying and that could be making it look cakey, do you use an eye cream underneath?

It just looks dry like I don't know what's wrong. I moisturize w/ Clinique dramatically different moisturizer for oily skin &&' I prime w/ urban decay pore perfecting primer then I apply the prolongwear concealer, &&' maybelline age rewind brightening concealer to highlight &&' blend that w/ my finger &&' damp beauty blender &&' set it w/ either the elf translucent powder or the Rimmel stay matte powder. What's going on 😩
Freddy A. I really don't, what do you suggest.? Something not so expensive, I'm on a budget right now.

I've had this problem before with other concealers. I found if I tone my skin, use my serum (Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Serum), moisturize, use an eye cream and then a primer I don't have this issue. After all that I apply my concealer with my fingers and feather it out, then go over it with a wet Beauty Blender dupe (I have the Dermablend egg sponge that I got from work). One thing that I do that is really different from what others do, and tbh it's helped me out a lot is using a dry Beauty Blender/equivalent and swirl it into my powder and lightly press it under my eyes and blend out VERY lightly. Then I'll go over that with a flat powder brush like the Handi Brush from Jane Iredale or the Mineral Powder brush from Mary Kay (to give you a feel of what I mean by "flat" powder brush). Lastly, I set with a finishing spray. I like to use the Jane Iredale Balance Antioxidant Hydration Spray for oily skin, but I'm sure any would work. Hope this helps :)

Sounds like you're using too much product and too much powder after maybe? Put concealer on back of your hand to warn it up and make it go tacky, use tiny about of powder, maybe invest in an eyecream aswel, as you use Clinique try thier all about eyes concealer.

I apply mine with a damp beauty blender and set it with bare minerals powder concealer in well rested- doesn't cake or crease :)
