there are many ways to accomplish different styles of curls with the wand but either way take about a one inch strand of hair to curl, wrap it around the wand however you would like but i would suggest curling away from your face. You can curl your hair both ways in order to get more volume and different curls. Don't forget to use heat protector before using the wand, hairspray afterwards, only hold your hair in the wand for about three seconds and always wear your glove (i have a couple bad burns).
