Okay, so I'm naturally blonde and dyed my hair brown black a couple months ago. It had faded to medium brown and I decided to go back to light blonde tonight. Bad decision. I guess i didn't give the ends of my hair enough attention so now I'm left with bleached roots and dark brown ends and it's just a serious mess. I can't wear a hat forever, so what should I do?
Do I just shave my head and start over? (My hair is short a la Emma Watson pixie)
OR
Do I go to a professional in the morning to have it fixed?
OR
Do I buy a bleach kit tomorrow and box dye it once more?
Please help! Will my hair be ruined if I dye it twice in one day? Has anyone had this problem before? What did you do about your bad dye job? I'm at a loss! I've never had this bad of an experience box dying my hair and I have to fix this today so I don't spend family Christmas time looking like a skunk!

Can you show a picture of the damage? It seems like you could have an ombré situation starting. It really depends on how bad it is.

Oh, I see now. At this point, if you want to dye it, use a demipermanent dye so it doesn't bond to the hair shaft and doesn't necessarily damage it as much. But if you would prefer a permanent, absolutely go to a stylist. They will know what to do.

Thanks! I'll try that. Since it wasn't a bleach kit, the color should/could fade out if I shampoo it a couple times tomorrow?

It may be able to. But I would get a clarifying or a deep cleansing shampoo if possible. And condition it for a long time so your hair isn't super dry.

Okay great so this is manageable thanks so much for your help! I'll update later to let you know how it goes. I'll try deep cleansing first and if that doesn't help I may just go brown again and deal with being blonde later.

Apply a color remover to just the ends... To remove the remainder of the dark dye... You may have to do this more than once...when you get rid of the dark dye and your hair is one color or very close to it... Apply bleach with a 20vol developer...check the hair by wiping away the bleach with a damp towel (just a small section) make sure to recoat that section you checked... When you're lifted to a color you like rinse... Apply a violet based toner to get rid of any yellow or brassy tones left in the hair
I'm Paul Mitchell trained so this is sound advice....if you have any questions or need anything explained in further detail just let me know doll

I've been in your position before. So i know how you feel :/! What i did was take a hot shower to open up my follicles then condition it really well. Wash that out and put it in my leave in conditioner and wrapped it up for the night. The next day i went to my aunt, professional hair dresser, and she did a few treatments on it. To lighten up the dark spots. Then she did a hot oil treatment. I came back in 3 days. It was lightened up to a lightish brown. So she just dyed it a light brown so my roots would match. I suggest you go to a professional before you destroy your hair :/! Never ever ever use box dye!

What you could also do if you can get a hold of color remover apply conditioner on your roots this will prevent them from lightening more then you mix your bleach and add shampoo into it and apply that on leave it 5 minutes at a time till your get as light as you can dont exceed 20 minutes though
