Just purchased some black soap and I'm very excited to try it! Any reviews? Bad/good experiences? Thanks :)

I loved it! I used it daily by lathering it in my hands first and washing my face with it. It's great for exfoliation, which I used at least once a week directly on my face. It made my face feel really tight. I didn't like that. But it made my pores appear smaller. I hope it helped.

Very helpful, thank you! Do you have acne prone skin? If so, did it help with the acne at all?

I just got it about a month ago and I like it. Like Pontip, I lathered it in my hands and then washed my face with it. I have acne prone skin (ugh) and I feel it's helped me not break out so much. It hasn't stopped then completely but it's getting better.

Yes I do! It was so bad when I lived in Texas. And it calmed it down. But I still broke out, not as much. I rarely break out now that I live in Cali. Thank god!! Now I want to buy some soap! :p

Does it feel tight? If so, yeah. I usually put a light moisturizer on like 3mins after my face is dry.

I love my black soap! I use it on my face and back, and it just makes me feel so squeaky clean. But it definitely will dry you out like crazy, so you HAVE to moisturize. Otherwise, your skin will overcompensate for the dryness and produce even more oil.
(PS I got mine from Shea Butter Hut, and it's so raw it's got chunks of bark in it! It was around $25 for 4 giant chunks that were about 2 or 3 pounds total.)

Thank you ladies! I actually got mine at Walgreens and it says it contains Shea butter

Anything that's making your skin feel tight after you use it is not good at all!
Soap is horrible for your skin in general. It strips the skin of its acid mantle and therefore messes up the pH balance of your skin.
It may seem to work for now, but it WILL certainly not leave your skin happy later!

Use a pH balanced cleanser to cleanse your face.. usually not anything you can find at walgreens or cvs..
Go see an esthetician, they will be able to help with whatever problems you may be encountering with your skin. & if they can't, they will be able to point you in the right direction!
