I have researched all the types of hair extensions and I've concluded that tape-ins will be the best for me. My hair is SUPER thin and fine and I really just want to add some thickness and fullness to it. It's so thin that I can't wear it in ponytails, braids, or buns without it looking ridiculous. I really just have no hair. Multiple stylists have said my hair is perfectly healthy, it just doesn't grow very fast, and everyone in my family has thin hair also.
So last week when I was getting my hair trimmed and colored, I asked my stylist on her opinion of tape-in extensions and said I was interested. She basically shot the idea down instantly and said she wasn't a fan of any type of permanent extension because of the damage that they do to your natural hair. She recommended me to get clip-in extensions. Well, I've thought about it a lot more and have watched tons of reviews and I really just don't want to have to hassle with putting the clips in every single day. I want to be able to wake up with thick hair, and I also want it to look natural. Plus, I want to be able to wear my hair up, and it will be challenging with clips.
My hair is about shoulder length, and I'd probably get the extensions cut so it isn't much longer. Like I said, my main goal is really just to have thicker hair. The problem is that my hair salon doesn't apply extensions so I'd have to go to another salon. And I'm nervous (as childish as it sounds) that my stylist will be mad at me for getting them since she was very opinionated on me not getting them. And I'm nervous that my next color appointment with her will be very awkward.
Any advice?

Honestly, I would get them. I've had sew ins and microbeads and honestly I felt way more attractive than I do with just my hair haha. I wouldn't worry at all what your stylist says; it's your hair and you can do what you want with it. Also, if you end up not liking the extensions, at least you won't have the urge to get them anymore. Lol that was always worth it to me.

How long do tape ins last?

Tape ins a much more natural looking and are more comfortable. When my hair was growing back from when I shaved it a few years ago I got tape ins for about 6 months so I could have slightly longer and thicker hair. I really liked them and I would totally get some again if I ever wanted thicker/longer hair than I have right now!
