So when it comes to taking pictures of makeup or even selfies, I know natural lighting is best. However, I only have my crappy iPhone camera to work with and I never do dramatic looks in the daytime. When I go out on the weekends and put a lot of effort into my work, it's always at nighttime and I would like to post my makeup but the pics are always so grainy and dark. Any tips on how to get a clearer, brighter pic without the use of filters? I'm clueless 😬

Use good artificial lighting. is there a room in your house that is very well lit at night too? I use different lights depending on how they behave that day/night. I sometimes use a big white light that I use on my desk to study and I like the outcome most times. I also have a bathroom with three big lightbulbs above the mirror and that gives a more "diffused" light. Otherwise, you can always buy specific "daylight" mimicking lightbulbs and build a station for that.

What I do sounds weird but it works! use your phones video camera with the flash on, film your eyes up close and at all the angles you want. Then go back, watch the video and take screen shots of the parts of the video you want. Idk if that sounds confusing or not haha, but it works! thats the only way I can get really clear pictures. you definitely need the flash!

I don't know, I have the same problems. The lighting I like is the lighting from Walgreens 😂

That's a great idea Melissa! Aw that's too bad Lauren, I was hoping I could help. Another tip is to do your nighttime makeup just before sunset if you can, it's probably a stupid tip but I thought I'd say it anyway :) good luck!

The problem I always have is that all my lighting in my house has a yellowish tint, and all my pictured turn out horrible. ill normally have to end up using the flash on my phone.
