Can a moisturizer be used as a primer? if so which one?

They are two different things. However, there is a product that is supposed to moisturize, prime, and remove makeup all in one. I have spoken with several makeup artists who RAVE about it. Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre. It appears to be inexpensive and I am wanting to try it.

You can definitely use a moisturizer instead of a primer. as long as your foundation has something to stick onto then it should be fine. primers make your makeup lasts longer, smooth canvas to work with and creates a barrier between your skin with nothing on and makeup so it doesn't clog your pores. there are some primers that has the beneficial of reducing pores, fine lines and so on. if you don't have any of those problems then using a moisturizer instead of a primer should be fine.

I use the Embryolisse Lait-Creme or Mac Strobe Cream all the time as a primer but I have DRY skin. I would only recommend doing so on dry skin.

Sarah, have you tried the Becca primer? Holy molé that stuff is matte as can be and really reduces pores. It's too matte for my dry-ish skin, which kind of bummed me because of the awesome pore reducing. I think you should give it a go, at least get a sample at sephora.
Embyolisse is a good primer, but for dry skin. I have fairly dry skin and it feels heavy to me.

Yeah, it felt crazy to me too. I thought maybe for someone with oily skin it would be good though.
