Yes, lemon is one of the best natural skin care home remedies. Another one is papaya which is an antioxidant. It has enzymes that can shed off the dead tissue of your skin and help reduce the visibility of wrinkles. To use papaya as natural exfoliating enzyme, just rub mashed papaya on your face and leave for 5 minutes then rinse well.

Lemon is actually super bad for the skin. Especially the face. There are serious dangers to putting lemon on your face. Putting citrus on your face can cause a phototoxic reaction called phytophotodermatitis, an inflammatory reaction that results in bruise-like hyperpigmentation, with the potential for nasty looking blisters and burning. It's often mistaken for chemical burns. it is dangerous, painful and really not worth it. Read about it here where less than 3 minutes of sun exposure can trigger a huge reaction on rats. Even sunblock didn't prevent it.

That's true alyx and I agree any natural remedies should always be taken with caution n spot tests before you do anything drastic like change your whole routine - but lemon can be good if used properly - but you are right leaving it on your skin for prolonged periods and exposing it to sun are very bad for the skin so you always have to be careful with any skin care products especially anything DIY since you are responsible if anything bad happens to your skin - you can't blame the company that produced it like if you were to just buy something over the counter.

Ouch!! Lemon juice contains limonene which defeats the purpose of its suggested use because when the UV rays hit your skin that has been treated with lemon juice it will cause discoloration. So if you have current hyper pigmentation issues you will only make them far worse. Lemon juice is best used for lemonade and marinades...not for the skin. :(

I'm really, really confused.
Isabelle, are you cutting and pasting info and just putting up different headings?
I've observed you have done this with a few subjects however, there's no real engagement for conversation
..? Or am I misguided?

@Cass...yes you are not alone. I'm getting the same vibe after seeing the multiple posts. No engagement of convo coming from her end. And the cutting and pasting info is rampant.

I know skin has a ph level that is more acidic than alkaline, but straight lemon juice may not be the greatest.. acv mixed with water would be a good alternative if lemons are too harsh, but then again, no two snow flakes are alike much like everyone's skin is different. What works for one won't work for all!!
