Okay, so I am making a summer scrub and wanted to know if using sugar is okay? I love using sugar, but will it attract bugs to the skin in? Have you experienced this during the summer? Or would salt be a better choice?

Using sugar will certainly not attract any bugs to your face lol.. Sugar is what I go for :)! Salt dehydrates which could cause your skin to get very dry!

(Applies to both face and body) If you have acne prone skin or if your muscles are constantly being used (ie working out) a salt scrub tends to be a better option. It disinfects and gets rid of blemishes :) salt and water are also great, natural muscle relaxers so it feels especially good post work out!! If you do go with a sugar scrub, you'll be fine. Bugs won't be attracted to your face lol

Lol Thanks everyone. I had to make sure it wouldn't attract bugs because of the seasonal climate change. Although, I do love sugar scrubs in the winter. Good to know! :)

The only salt scrub I've ever tried was Philosophy's Senorita Margarita and it was amazing. But it definitely felt a lot coarser than the sugar scrubs I've tried.

I personally use salt and olive oil scrub for the body.. And sugar and honey scrub for the face.
