Okay, so I am making a summer scrub and wanted to know if using sugar is okay? I love using sugar, but will it attract bugs to the skin in? Have you experienced this during the summer? Or would salt be a better choice?

I use sugar scrubs all year for my body and your rinsing it all off so it's not going to attract bugs and it's more hydrating than a salt scrub, salt scrubs are good if you want to detox the skin because they draw out impurities but I wouldn't use it daily.

I use Honey, Sugar, and a little bit if Jojoba or Olive Oil on my body. I don't quite attract bugs.
Just like Traci mentioned, it's something you rinse off.

Salt can be drying, but it is a better exfoliant.

Thank you. I love using sugar scrubs during winter, but I was a bit curious because bugs are attracted to 'sweet'; even the slightest hint of sweet. So I had to make sure it wouldn't make a difference during the summer. Thanks! :)

I use brown sugar and honey scrub and it rinses off easily. I thought it would be sticky or maybe leave a residue but it doesn't! There's no reason it should attract bugs. I do like salt scrubs, but I find them more drying and would use it on my body rather than my face.
