Some spray tans can last a while as long as you don't exfoliate every time you bathe/shower.
If you get a tan that is too dark then it can look orange.
Where I work the spray tans are?10

I would say that if you go to a spray tan booth then you are maybe going to orange, but maybe not. I would recommend that you find someone to personally airbrush you so they can make a custom color and apply it evenly. If you moisturize a lot afterward and don't exfoliate much then you can get 1-2 weeks before your tan is gone. In my town you can get a booth spray tan for around $15 or a personal airbrush tan for around $25. If I were you I would go on Yelp and read reviews of local places before making an appointment somewhere.

There are many different types of spray tans. The place (other place) I work for have versa beds. We provide light medium and dark color using a clear spray or bronzer. You can choose to have a moisturizer in with your tan or not. If you are going for a natural glow you will want the light tan, for a look of a day at the beach go with medium, and for a look at though you've been on vacation for a week a dark tan. Adding a moisturizer to your spray will obviously add moisture to your skin as well as help extend your tan.
As for how long do they last? It depends. If you exfoliate well before you spray you should last roughly a week to week and a half. If you exfoliate and buy the spray tan primer you are looking at a much longer life of your spray tan. Also to help avoid blotching there are many great body washes designed for evenly fading your spray. Last but not least you'll want to use a tan extender. Not only with this extend your natural tan but your spray as well and give you that extra moisture to help lock in your spray.
How much does it cost? At our location we are currently having a special of $15 for one spray but normal cost is $35. You can also buy spray tan packages that allow you to spray numerous times a month for a lower rate that is usually automatically withdrawn from your account.
Do they look orange? Okay so my advice is to find a place where the bed sprays you instead of having someone do it by hand. A machine is going to spray you more accurately to avoid adding to much to certain areas. If you are very fair I wouldn't recommend a dark tan. Start with a light or medium and see how your skin reacts to those depths.
Also a side note: spray tans usually take 8-12 hours to develop which means you'll want to avoid water during this period of time. If you will be doing a lot of working out or in an environment where you will be sweating a lot I highly recommend the body wash. The more you perspire the quicker your tan can fade in certain areas.
Make sure you shave when you exfoliate and avoid shaving for a day or two after a spray, especially if you choose not to buy the wash.
Sorry for so much info, I hope this wash helpful.
