I'm doing my bestfriend's sisters makeup and so far I've only done lighter tones that are close to mine and her sister is dark skin and I'm unsure of how to contour like I don't want her to look ashy with the contour and also I'm really debating on whether I should try false lashes on her for the first time ever lol. help. adviceeeee. its her prom and she has to look great.

Is she supplying her own makeup? Ask her to meet you at a store and test some color shades together. So that both you & her are comfortable. If it's just a one time thing for her, maybe look to see if the dollars stores around you have any good brands there.
Oh... If you can... Try n do a test run w/ her before

Actually for girls who have darker skin it's more convenient to just highlight and do both.
I suggest to go with the first picture. I see they're highlighting with the lighter cream and the other shade doesn't look darker nor lighter (looks just right). Since her skin is dark already there will be no need for it because that will work as your contour... You understand what I'm trying to say?? Lol. I suck at explaining honestly.
Just make sure to not go too light on the highlight. It's very washy to go overboard and get some ashy-ness

As far as Falsies go, you have to practice on others to and yourself because sometimes you have to trim them, add lashes, or do individuals. It's all about trial and error.

Thanks for the help! I might skimp out on the lashes I wouldn't want her looking a hot mess lol. and I already bought a super dark foundation so I was just going to mix if needed to match her skin tone @Natalie and I understand what you're saying Diggie lol.

The demi lashes, or cutting lashes in half are easy to apply. Practice on yourself first.
Dark skintones... I like using correctors instead of concealors... nothing with a tint in it. Orange correctors, purples, reds.. stunning... golds... omg... I love working on darker skin tones. There's so much more option... my maqpro palettes come out and play.
Do a trial one. Hope you post pics... have fun
