First trim off all the damaged ends, then do like a leave in treatment.

I agree w/ Dawn ^ get a trim and don't use hot tools so much.. Also, don't wash your hair EVERYday because you rid it of natural oils.

I know it sounds gross, but I wash my hair once a week. Sometimes less. And have for years. Specially now that I've bleached and gone blue/violet. In the begining, youll feel ick. But your scalp adjusts. Ill use stilia dry shampoo or perfect ten spray shampoo to absorbs oils and freshen up.

My favorite line is pureology. My hair likes it. And its free from sulfates. Also really helps color last.

Once a month, I do a clarfing shampoo. Bi monthly hair masks.

Getting trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks is uber important for healthy hair. Wide tooth combs only when hair is wet. Always use heat protectors too when styling. Another nice thng about washing less, is less styling. One blow out, or curl, or flat iron, will last all week.

Wrap your hair at night. No clips or bands, but in a scarf. It will decrease breakage. Rinse in cold water at end of wash. Ummm... what else...

There's no quick fix. Just new habbits

If it's got split ends, CUT THEM OFF. Otherwise it'll split up the hair shaft, which causes breakage. Minimise your use of heat styling, do hair masks/deep conditions, don't wash your hair in hot water.

Trim the split ends, try to wash your hair only once or twice a week, use a deep conditioner. Putting coconut oil in your hair and leaving it in for a few hours does wonders also. :)

If your hair is "damaged" say from coloring it and its overprocessed( the hair is like spaghetti when its wet , loss of elasticity and it snaps easily). You need to put both strength and moisture back in there. Say keratin which is a protein (be careful with keratin too much will damage the hair, keratin hardens the cuticle layer) and a deep conditioning treatment. If your hair is dry just use a good moisturizing treatment.

* If your hair is severely damaged no matter what you do will not fix it and you would need to cut it off. *

If you already have healthy hair or normal hair and are just wanting to keep it healthy :
regular trims
not using cheap shampoos and conditioners
washing hair only a couple of times a week since it strips your oils in your hair
