Chaveli..strength train and eat healthy foods. Make sure you eat a lot of good proteins! (I was certified in personal training)

I know its much different for men and women, but my boyfriend is trying to gain weight as well. He's on the butt end of his 30s and his metabolism has not slowed down, at all! I found him as a little 114 lb 6ft+ dude who didn't eat much and would never touch a vegetable. Since then he has gained about 35 lbs through lots of weight lifting and eating a lot of protein. It took a while, its been about two years for the weight gain, but he only really started upping his protein and trying vegetables for about 9-12 months, but he has been lifting weights for the entire time. I have no idea how safe this is, but it is kinda working for him, especially since he started eating regularly and including more vegetables and protein in his diet. Its really expensive to feed him ALL THE TIME, and he eats even more when he does cardio and speeds up his metabolism even further, but I'm glad to see him getting towards a healthier weight.

Lots of foods that are high in protein (eggs, chicken, steak, etc) and all the veggies and fruits you can handle. You NEED to be strength training 5 days a week focusing on a different body part. You'll gain MUSCLE instead of fat. You'll love the way you feel and the way you look. <3

I agree with the other girls that strength training is best. Also, for the forst two to four weeks, drink ensure or another dietary supplement drink like once a day.

Stay away from Ensure. Its loaded with sugar. Better off consuming a whey protein and loading it up with protein rich foods like bananas. Meghan M. and Lauren S. is completely on point in regards to achieving your goal. It was once very hard for me to maintain weight and it evolved into a lifestyle/sport for me (as a figure competitor). I tried all the usual tricks of the trade when I was young and didn't know any better....the Ensure method sent my glucose level up the roof plus it was expensive, eating high calorie empty nutrient foods (whole milk, ice cream, fried foods, etc). I gained the weight the healthy way and I never looked or felt better. Good luck on your journey. :)

Try weights 3-4 times a week to start. Look up beginner weight routines and ask for help at a gym. You need to do the exercises the right way to get the benefits of it
