They have makeup sharpeners with a big hole for things like that. Unless you can twist it at the bottom.

I have some of those, you sharpen it. You have to find a sharpener big enough though.

The NYX jumbo pencils are design to be sharpen with a sharpener (find a duo one, Essence has a good one for under $2). Yes it's plastic but not thick plastic, it'll sharpen just fine.
