I want to give my cheeks a cute cheery look because I'm always smiling. but whenever I put blush on it looks weird. not enough, too much, not a good color, wrong place. any tips?

Try a softer, more light and peachy blush at first, because it's easier to apply. a good blush brush will also help a lot. then just apply it right on your cheekbones, but pat all the excess product off the brush before you do so.

Could you maybe post a picture of yourself?

Personally I like to use a stipple brush for blush because it applies in a more airbrushed way rather than heavily distributed in one spot.

The chart that Jacqlyn posted is perfect...plus its vital to use the correct brush. The brush can either make or break blush application. My absolute fave is the MAC #168. And if I get a little too heavy-handed then I go in with a stippling brush.

This might help but you'd have to give it a try, when you apply the blush, Firstly don't smile while applying, when you stop smiling it drops and is incorrectly positioned. Secondly, for me, I don't put the majority of the product on the plump part of the cheek, I go more towards the bone, above where you'd contour. Best way to pick colour is go for a colour closest to the colour you naturally flush to when blushing or exercising. When putting product on the brush start light and build up the colour on your cheek, you can always put more, it's always tough when you put too much. Hope this helps x
