I have been dying my hair with biological stains for years and they work great! The colors are really vibrant! I have only used Gentian Violet and Methylene Blue. Both work great and last for a long time. What I do is mix a few drops with conditioner or developer until I get the desired color and then apply it to the hair. the color lasts way longer than any professional hair dye I have used. Would you dye your hair with a biological stain?

here is a picture of my hair dyed with gentian violet. http://kukuramutta.deviantart.com/art/royalty-175623024

and the attached photo is dyed with the methylene blue.

Thanks Grace! Hello fellow Sarah C. there are lots of different biological stains and they have a variety of uses. they are mostly used in science and medicine. Gentian Violet is an anti fungal that is used to treat thrush on babies and adults. Methylene Blue is commonly used in aquariums to treat disease on fish.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staining
