I've finally gotten in to see a dermatologist and I'm beyond excited.
I've struggled with various stages of acne since I was 13, but after I turned 17 and had to go off hormonal birth control, my skin went crazy.
Became super oily, my jawline broke out in white heads, and my cheeks which have never had a problem with before started getting some form of cystic acne.
It has totally shot down my confidence and I absolutely go nowhere without makeup.
So I'm really excited to be seeing a professional that can hopefully help with the ongoing acne and help with my scarring! Fingers crossed.
Have any of you see a dermatologist and have and advice or tips, or just your story on the experience!

Congratulations! I know what you are going through so I hope they can help. acne can really shoot down your confidence. it's truly a bummer. you still have breakouts and tried EVERYTHING. Well except for a dermatologist.

Good luck! My first derma started me with some tropicals, then an antibiotic, and eventually accutane! My skins completely clear now! Trust your doctor they know what they're doing 😋

I've tried some topicals from my family doctor that did nothing at all.
My problem is that I have a blood disorder where I can't take any birthcontrol or acne treatments that are hormonal (which I have hormonal acne so curing it is super difficult!)
I'm worried about how long the process will take and I've heard it tends to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Good luck! I had the exact same break outs as you and the same stuff bekah said my doctor prescribed me kinda sucks. So I'm hoping I get something stronger.

I wish you luck!! I have been to countless dermatologists and none of them have told me anything! I have a very strange skin condition though that they apparently can't identify. Oh well, I wish you luck with yours!
