Skin deep.
Brains?
Don't think.
Don't tell me I'm beautiful
I just don't agree
But I'll take the compliment and smile
Happily

How is it you can't see?
My eyes show my pain
Or wait?
Does my makeup mask my emotions?
It covers the hurt
Maybelline, Covergirl
Oh yes they work
You can't see me
Nor do I want you to
You're looking at my eyeshadow
You like that?
Mm, I know you do
It distracts from my crooked smile
My big nose
And my small eyes
Can't you tell I use my makeup as my disguise?
No you don't notice
You can't tell
You don't see
That face that you're seeing
It's not me

A shell, a clone
A shield, who'd have known?
That beauty is skin deep
Not a reflection of our soul
Outer beauty before inner
Heaven for a sinner
We love for what we see
I hope I'm not beautiful
So you will like what's underneath
