What do you use to contour make up? It might be a silly question but I don't know :L is it foundation? Powder? Like if I wanted to do it now what would I need to have? Thanks :)

Bronzer

The easiest way to do it (without any specific products) is with a darker (1-2 shades) shade of foundation or concealer :) there are also contouring kits like Kevyn Aucoin and Make Up For Ever, but truly good contouring kits are more on the expensive side.

NOT BRONZER. Sorry, I missed that earlier. Bronzer is too warm toned to contour with, and will make your face appear muddy and patchy.

You can use foundation but I highly recommend the kevyn aucoin sculpting powder you can get it here in beautylish and it mimics shadow beautifully

And ya bronzers are no good to contour but great to give a glow to the face

I just use a bronzer that's about 2 shades darker. I find using a powder gives a cleaner finish than using foundation or concealer. It also depends on whatever brush you use - I use an eyeshadow blending brush to chisel out where I want my contour to go, and blend out the harsh line with the everyday brush from real techniques.
Just remember that contouring is subjective. Play around with different products and techniques to see what works best for you. Xx

^ don't use a bronzer :/
bronzers have warm undertones as they are meant to give the skin a warmer, almost tan looking finish.
actual contouring powders have a grey/cooler undertone to them so that they better mimic shadows.
Hannah gave great advice. a concealer/foundation/powder 1-2 shades darker than your skin tone is what you want to contour with.

I use a foundation a few shades darker. I find that it gives the most natural finish because I use one that blends I'm the best and since I'm dry powder can make that worse.

Don't ever use bronzer to contour!! Big NONO! If you are just starting out and you don't want to get into the heavy contouring you can always use a cool but not muddy toned powder to simply define your bonestructure, etc. I love using duo fiber brushes to contour too just so you know. I feel they give a smoother more blended look!

I use the senna cosmetics contour palette. It's 48$ and it's cream! It works really well and comes with a little brush! I have a video on my channel if you want to see how I use it :)

The only thing I would 'contour ' with bronzer is under your cheekbones! it's a mess everywhere else.

@Sara V. how long does the pallette last if it's used daily?

The palette is kinda small but it's cream so a little goes a long way. I don't contour with it everyday but I would say it could last a while! I didn't even make a small dent in the product using it a few times. It looks really natural which I find is the best part of using creams to highlight and contour.
