Where do you get colored contacts and how do you select them? I want them to change up my eye color, but don't need them for vision.

You can buy them on Amazon, but they will not be sized for your eyes so may not be as comfortable as they would be if you went to your optometrist and purchased them.

I get prescription from Americas best. It's good to get them from an eye doctor even if you don't need prescription. They also measure your eye diameter to perfectly fit your eye. I use fresh look color lends which blends with your original eye color to give you a more natural color change.

Always see an optometrist for a lens fitting before buying any contacts! Nonprescription contacts can be dangerous if they are ill-fitting, and you risk scratching a cornea or permanent vision damage. I cannot stress this enough: you MUST be fitted and get the go-ahead from an optometrist FIRST. No exceptions! It isn't worth losing your sight for the sake of vanity.
Once you are measured by your optometrist, you can purchase lenses. Be aware that purchasing lenses from anywhere besides an optometrist's office is illegal in the United States; you will have to purchase them from overseas if you don't want to pay crazy domestic prices. Plano/nonprescription lenses are contraband in the You.S.A. and any place selling them here is in direct violation of federal law. Avoid these shady illegal dealers. Make sure you only purchase from reputable sites. Counterfeit lenses do exist, and they are extremely dangerous. Sites like YouKnowIt (based in the UK), HoneyColor (Malaysia), and Pinky Paradise (I think based in Korea?) are safe and have consistently sold quality genuine lenses.
Please be aware that contacts are an investment. The initial fitting can cost upwards of $50 depending on your insurance, the lenses plus shipping will be close to $40-50 depending on where you buy, the case and solution will cost $4-7 roughly... Overall you are looking at over $100 for your first pair of costume lenses, and that's only if your optometrist says it is okay for you to even wear them!
Also worth noting: colored contacts can only be worn for a few hours at a time and can't be worn every day. Due to the layer of pigment that gives them their color, they are thicker than vision correcting lenses. This blocks oxygen from reaching the eye, and can lead to fatigue and hypoxia, causing irreversible damage. This is especially true for large diameter lenses like circle lenses and sclera lenses. Make sure to have wetting drops handy and take them out after a few hours (less than 8 hours for regular colored contacts). NEVER sleep with costume lenses on. You will end up in the emergency room with horrific pain and damaged vision once the inflammation heals. Always take them out if there is a possibility you will fall asleep.
Hopefully this is helpful. I've been wearing costume lenses for years, and I will happily answer any questions you may have. :)

Emily W knows what's up! I work at a theatrical supply store which distributes contacts a through an optometrist. People always come in looking to buy them and I have to give them the whole speech about being illegal and not fitting to your eye lol.

Uh, no offense to anyone, but I'll take my chances. If I lived this long after the stuff I did in my youth, I'm not really scared of colored contacts. Lol. Sorry.
