No this is what most moms do to their daughters so they won't have to go through this later on just don't let her pick on them.

My whole family does that. (I however wasn't so lucky getting them done at six then them getting infected and not piercing them again for another 6 to 7 years) If your baby grows up to hate them take them out and the holes will close by a couple of months.

Nope, my mom did this to me and lots of other people do this. She can always take them out later if she wants.

My mom never pierced my ears but I wish she had. I finally had it done when I was 13. But if she had done it, and I ended up not wanting them, I just would have let them close up.

Well. my thinking was that she could take them out and let it grow back if she wanted and it'd be better for her to be in a little pain while getting them now and not remember it instead of later when she will:/ And I think that if I get them done now, I can put it upon myself to clean them, disinfect etc. Just in case she forgets too and gets them infected. but thank you all for telling your opinions:)

No I got my ears pierced at 3 months and it was so good because I don't have to remember the pain if there was pain and now I can wear earrings whenever I want without worrying about getting them pierced

I'm going to go against the majority and say it's not the best thing to do, but not the worst either. I'd wait and see if my daughter actually WANTED her ears pierced so she doesn't have to wait for them to close up naturally.

I honestly don't think it's a bad thing, & I don't think it's wrong morally neither. It's just a little earring it's not like you're giving your baby a tattoo that she/he will never be able to remove (unless by laser) it's just an earring. If she doesn't like it when she's older than she could simply take it off & let the hole close. It doesn't hurt babies AS MUCH because their lobes are much thinner than when they're older. As long as the mom is careful & keeps them clean than it's okay. Like I said it's not like they're tattooing the child or doing something permanent.
