Teasing Hair!?

What's the best way to tease your hair? Just using a comb and hair spray or the powder that adds volume?? I've done both but my hair never holds it and you can start to see the back comb, how can I fix that!? Thanks:)

seperate hair into pieces and comb back with a teasing brush you can buy at any beauty store , then hair spray while your holding your hair up, and wait 5 seconds so it dries and then let down and gently brush over it. the powder is ok but it won't hold as well and when your finished brush it so that it's not frizzy and lightly hairspray!

Yes a teasing brush is much better than the comb, especially if your hair is straight. I actually like to spray a bit of hairspray before I start then pull the hair up and to the opposite direction of where it will lay (like if your doing a pouf pull the hair up and slightly forward). Then only tease the bottom 3 inches in short strokes til youre down to the scalp. Spray, hold, then style! (: goodluck!

*also if you use this method, be sure your teased area is smaller from every angle than the hair you will smooth over it.

The correct way to tease hair is to do it in "C" motions, not straight up and down the hair shaft. You want to over direct the hair in the opposite direction and just comb down (hold the hair in a way where some hair will stay in your hand and some hair will come down) not too much tension!

The teasing brushes at Sally's beauty supply work well and any volumizing hair spray will help. I don't tease but I hear big sexy hair, back comb in a bottle works really well.
