I look AWFUL in pictures so I NEVER take them. I can never.find a flattering angle. Or my makeup looks blah. Any makeup tips or tips in general to appear better in photos?

Be natural don't force a "fake" smile.

I thinks it's all in the head. I literally do the same thing. I'll take pictures and pick at myself. Sometimes we see the worst in ourselves. You're gorgeous and even though I'm sure this isn't the answer you're hoping for. Just know you aren't alone I think we all pick at ourselves too much.

It all depends on the angle and lighting.

Agree with Lexi on lighting. Get a flattering warm light and use flash. Contouring can make you appear much more dimensional and catch the light in the right places. Don't force a smile, don't try too hard to pose a certain way. Just relax and try different angles and smiles :)

I think it's always better to smile in photos, and the lighting is really important and never fake a pose because it's always noticeable... Contour your cheekbones it adds definition to your face (I always like to do that) , good luck 😊

The best way to appear photogenic is to know your body and face, very very well.Learn what angles your face catches the light in a way that you like, and then position your face that way in pictures. A downward angle is always more flattering than an angle coming from above. Lighting in rarely flattering coming from below, and much more flattering when it is soft and a bit defused. Lighting can make all the difference in how you see yourself. And there is nothing wrong with posing. Just learn to pose yourself in front of a camera in a way that you like, and try to do it whenever you can. Smiling can be nice too, but it is much more obvious when you try to fake a smile. Thing of something that makes you the happiest you could possibly feel, and I find that that causes the whole face to light up in a totally different way. Natural lighting is pretty much always better than a flash, which creates a harsh direct light, unless you have the right kind of lighting, and most average people do not have access to it. Rather, try to use natural light, perhaps by a window, and shoot at an angle just slightly up, looking down at yourself, and try turning your face just slightly to whatever side you prefer. Straight on pictures of your face are much harder to get right.

I take 100s of pics from all different angles and expressions and if I get lucky, a couple of them are usable. Stay strong in the name of selfies

I think it's always better to use natural poses (no duckface, fake smile or sth.) (I think smiling isn't always the best option, only if you feel happy/funny in reallife, too ;p). Light can make huge difference, too- I think daylight is the best. And just don't try too hard to pose or look good cuz it will look very fake in the photo :).

Just start by taking photos, I always felt like everyone else was photogenic but me!
But the more I took the more I learned what angles/lighting flattered me.
