Why is it that some days my makeup is fine but other days it comes up patchy and gross on my skin. What causes this?

Dead skin cells sounds like your issue. That's why it's important to exfoliate before applying your make up. Our skin sheds by itself every so often, but when it comes to terms of make up you want to exfoliate to have the best base.
You can DIY Exfoliate using crushed oatmeal and water or a very refined white sugar mixed with honey which will also add a glow.

Agree with kitty! Exfoliate often. I like using a halved lemon rubbed in granulated sugar for a heavy duty brightening scrub, or use ground raw sugar or brown sugar in place of granulated for a more gentle scrub. Always use moisturizer after scrubs as well as prior to makeup.

Oh, well I have gotten lazy with exfoliating and stuff because I'm doing full time tafe and barely have time in the morning to put makeup on, but I need to get back into it then..it looks so bad sometimes haha. thankyou :) xx
