Prefer Gel Liner Or Pencil Liner On The Water Line?

What do you guys prefer better, Gel liner on the water line or kohl (Eyeliner pencil) On the water line? and is it true that its bad to put gel on the water line? like it will smudge.

I prefer pencil liner for the water line. kohl liner smudges too easily & gel liner is a lot more frustrating to apply, lol. if you use a gel liner, be sure to set it with a black shadow or it will smudge.

I use a thin artist brush to lightly apply eye primer at the lash line to help set.I like using Stila Smudge stick water proof eyeliner with Sephora collection Waterproof Smoky cream liner it's wonderful together and stays in place plus I add a bit of a Black shadow right on the bottom lash line as a barrier.It just seems to stand out more when I use both together.

Thank you girls so much! the reason why I asked this question is because I been using gel liner on my water line for a year now, it always seems to come out perfect and stays in place But later on in the day I can see the inner part of my eyeliner drowning down & ends up looking very messy! My cousin told me not to use gel liner because that will happen.

I only use gel liner on my waterline. I have allergies so my eyes water up a lot, and no eyeliner seems to stay, except for the gel line. I just make sure to apply a small amount of black eyeshadow to set it, and it literally stays all day long.

Pencil just for how easy it is. I love gel liner but I don't like the hassle of using a brush! My favourite waterliner is the NYX slide on or Urban Decay 24/7 :)

I'm so bias on this but I have to say pencil just because I work with pencil a lot more than gel or any other kind. Just because I am a hot mess and make tons of mistakes. But when it comes to water line pencil is more preferable for me and easier to work with!

It depends on the look. Gel eyeliner is best for really defining and keeping the line controlled. It also lasts longer in my opinion. I use Maybelline or MAC Fluidline. I have MAC Feline for kohl, and I love it when I want super-sexy smoldering eyes, where it's okay if the eyeliner is messier and smudgy.
