What's the difference between body butter and body lotion? Which is more moisterising and better?

I prefer lotion. Body butters have a slightly different texture but I think lotions help with moisture much better than body butters.

Butters have a thicker consistency. And both of moisturizing depending on your skin type or just preference.

I think body butters tend to be more oily and have a heavier textutr and lotions tend to have a higher water content and a lighter texture. If I'm moisturising in the day I like to use lotion and if I'm moisturising at night just before bed I tend to use body butters.

Body butter moisturize much better than lotion. lotion for me is for the day, and body butter is for when you go to bed and you want to be nice and soft :)
