Raquel are you using the cerave pm w hyaloronic acid. try using a plant based oil after moisturizing, olive, argan, jojoba etc. are you exfoliating? a good alpha hydroxy product can help too.

Thank you Raquel for asking this question because I was just looking at my dry skin ugh frustrated with it since it just started happening and I'm also in San Diego too so it must be this weather.

I agree with Danny about trying argan oil and also try Dr Graf Collagen cream and Signature club A hydrating mask they both keep your skin plump and hydrated

Be careful on the type of exfoliators you ladies are using. I discovered that the scrubs actually do more damage then good. you are basically creating little tears on your skin that can actually enhance wrinkles and dryness. best to stick with salicylic acid/glycolic acid based products with a retinol. just try to get your skin on some sort of regimen so you can balance it again rather then try and do damage control once its done. oh I also found out that clay masks are actually meant to be used as spot treatment for pimples rather then the typically drying pimple treatments I was always using. it makes sense since they do draw out oil and dirt right lol. argon oil is really good for your skin to keep it balanced and smooth. I finally managed to get rid of my crepe eyelids and dry undereyes! I can wear concealer again!! yaay me :)

The only time you really need to worry about creating tears in the skin is if you're using a really harsh, coarse scrub. Basically any apricot scrub or any other scrub made with walnut shells are the types everyone should stay away from. If you use ones with rounded beads you can still get that dead dry skin off without tearing the skin. Other devices like the Clarisonic can potentially create tears but I think it's quite rare, I only really seem to see it if people have VERY sensitive skin, or usually it seems to come down to improper use.

But for moisture I love Maracuja oil. I use Tarte's because I like the size of the bottle. I tried buying smaller bottles from other brands for less and it was just not cutting it so I get the big bottle from Tarte. I love it, it hydrates so well. If you're looking for a good scrub I'd recommend the charcoal jojoba scrub from Michael Todd. It has rounded beads like I mentioned before and it's very gentle :)

Yes rounded beads are the best. they have jojoba beads at like coastalscents and stuff you can buy and add to your current face washes that can be great for your skin. The walnut shells and sugars are exactly what I was thinking of. it seems most people use those and they scrub super roughly thinking it will take off more dead skin that way.
