I've had really good luck with the Too Faced Lip Insurance, I'd definitely recommend that, though it can be a touch drying if you don't moisturize your lips beforehand.

I like Too Faced Lip Insurance. It really smooths out the lips without overly drying them (you need the lips to be relatively dry to extend the longevity and wear of the color).

I've only used mac and too faced. Too faced wins hands down. Mac did nothing for me.
