I'd say around 12, but only little things. Nothing dramatic.

I agree with starting teaching then, if they are interested, at middle school age because the other girls will be wearing makeup and if your daughter is going to be interested in it that is usually the age they start. I started my daughter off with a compact, lipgloss and some mascara, but now they have BB cream so that our tinted moisturizer would be perfect. Also bare minerals is the perfect makeup to start out with because it looks natural and the application is so easy once they learn to have a light hand with it.

In our country... 16 or 17.. is the age in which most of the girl show their interests in make up... but I think age doesn't matter coz lil girls like to do make up their dolls..

I'm a mom to a daughter who just turned 14 I gave her the green light to go with a bb cream or tinted moisturizer and a soft understated blush. She was already wearing mascara and blush. She's really not all that enthused about wearing makeup on a consistent basis as she'd rather apply it on me instead. I think 14 is the perfect age but not to go full face though.

I think 12/13 is a good age to start with mascara and clear gloss/tinted lip balms, but I think the face makeup should be left for 15/16+...but that's just me. I think everyone has a different 'right time'.

Oh boy...I think I was about 10 or 11 when I started wearing makeup in public. I honestly wouldn't care if my daughter wanted to at that age as well. I started out with what I knew; mascara, lipgloss and one shade of eyeshadow for special occasions. I didn't want to look like I didn't know what I was doing so I never went over board. I feel as long as its applied appropriately and correctly that age is kind of irrelevant.

Depends on skin condition. If the girl has unruly acne, at 12 I would start with concealer/light foundation or bb cream, blush and clear lipgloss, one shade of light eyeshadow and mascara. If skin was ok, I would wait till 13-14. At 16, advance to eyeliner and light colors of lipstick. In the end, we all probably remember putting on makeup we weren't allowed to wear anyways. Might as allow it so that she learns how to do it right, and will be appropriate looking to her age.

When I went to school in the 50s and 60s makeup was outlawed even in high school. If you wore Clearasil you needed a note from your doctor. I wore makeup outside of school at about 14.
