I need help coming up with an action plan for DHs skin. Here's the run down: he has horrible cystic acne(he refuses to adjust his diet and see if that makes a difference-ugh men) and eczema. The cycle kind of goes like this he gets these huge, and I mean HUGE, zits and some of them become sort of eczema-y, which he has rx creams for. He uses cereve on his face as lotion and is washing it with neutrogena original liquid soap- but the face wash is new, previous to that he's tried African Black Soap, Cereve cleanser, Dove bar soap, and some others I can't think of right now(this has been going on since we met-10 years!). His pores are huge, his skin is oily, but it's sensitive.
We are discussing getting a Clairsonic Mia for us to share. Do you think it would help? Which head would you get for him?
In the meantime what products should he be using? Help me, ladies!

No to the Mia. Not with the eczema as it will just contribute to a nasty flare-up. I know you said he refuses to change his diet but if he has tried everything under the sun and still no improvement its definitely worth bringing it up again because it just might be the saving grace for his skin. Dairy, sugar could both be feeding the acne and other issues he is experiencing.I second Cali's advice. Definitely get in to see a dermo. The rx creams for the eczema could also be causing the acne as well. They do contain steroids and they can flare up acne.

The problem here is that ance products irritate eczema and steroid creams do contribute to acne,so the best thing he can do is avoid his triggers everyone who has eczema has triggers could be certain foods or alcohol over exposure to sun dust, animal fur,if he gets the eczema under control he won't have to take steroids and can work on the acne, but until then gentle cleanser like cerave nothing containing detergent and no soap not even black soap he has to use a moisturizer even though he is oily because the eczema will flare up if he doesn't cerave moisturizer is a good choice and he can try sudocrem it's a cream that works on both ance and eczema and won't make either flare up,and he still needs to use a gentle exfoliater twice a week this will bring moisture and hydration to his skin and help lock it in to keep the eczema from drying out and also help with the breakouts by keeping pores clear

Hey tara, have you looked into trying argon oil as a moisturiser? Its supposed to be good for eczema and oily skin. I've just started using it, I have seriously dry eyelids and undereyes and an oily t-zone, and after only 1 week my breakouts have stopped and my skin looks more balanced. there is an esthetician on youtube that has some really valuable information on skincare that changed my life. her name is veronica gorgeois. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lrZqiqoZGA.
