Within this last week, and very suddenly, my face started breaking out really really badly. This is a very odd thing for me, because I usually just get a blemish or two around that lovely time of the month.

My entire face was covered in acne in about two nights, even my undereye area... I haven't changed anything in my routine. I keep my brushes clean. My pillowcases are always clean. Haven't changed up my detergent. Haven't eaten any junk. I'm super puzzled.

And it keeps getting worse.

My face ITCHES and BURNS. It's started flaking really badly. Even though I'm moisturizing...

I just don't understand. It's bummin' me out. What's going on with my skin? I'm starting to believe that I'm allergic to something... I don't even...

Also! When I'm washing my face, which burns like a mother, it's like my face has a million tiny bumps that I can feel. Kind of like the way a basketball feels...

Don't over wash your face, keep it clean and avoid touching it and avoid makeup for awhile

@Bianca I'm sort of paranoid right now. Avacado oil wouldn't clog up my pores and make it worse?

@Rachel When I did, she prescribed me a wash to "dry it out." But I don't want to use it because I feel like that's REALLY screw me up. It feels dry enough. I'm thinking of seeing a derm but just wanted to see if anyone has had similar problems.

No I won't. Promise! I suffered so much with acne it's ridiculous. Avocado oil is incredible! Also pure aloe vera gel will calm it down

It's possible to develop an allergy to products you've been using for quite some time already. I would stop washing your face with everything except warm water and no makeup. if it doesn't clear up within a few days (like 3) I'd go to a derm asap.

What about Jojoba oil? I have that on hand right now. Would that be good to moisturize with?
I've just messaged my doctor to refer me to a derm, so I'm excited for this...

Make sure none of your products have expired. using new products might not be the way to help since other Sounds like an allergic reaction. a reaction on your skin can also be caused by something you ate or came in contact with through the air.

Sounds like it might be eczema if you're getting a rash and itching/flaking. Keep your very face clean and get to your dermatologist. Sorry to hear that, love! Hope it gets better soon.

Made a dermatologist appointment. But in the meantime I'm going to use really gentle cleanser, stick to not using makeup and use a humidifier in my room to maybe make it less dry. I dunno.

Would coconut oil work as a moisturizer? Or do you think it'd clog my pores?

Thank you for everything, ladies. It's much appreciated.

Also, I've never been to a derm, what should I expect?

How long until your appointment? I would stop with any and all products. No cleasers or moisturizers (unless youre in pain because of the dryness) and especially no makeup. Only wash your face using warm water and your hands. PAT dry with a soft clean towel. Don't rub dry. As far as what to expect.. its not much different from a general doctors appointment. Since its your first youll have paperwork most likely and be asked what medications youre taking, prescription and OTC, and if youre allergic to anything. Go over your routine, products that you use and your diet with the dermatologist so she/he can try to determine what caused your breakouts and dry skin.
