Hi I would like to try a primer but not sure where to start? My skin is very dry and sensitive and prone to redness.

I have the same skin type as you and I recently bought bourjois new "happy light luminous serum primer" and I really like it. Worth a try :)

That's what I've literally been looking at as have used the healthy mix serum foundation which seems to be fine on my skin! Thankyou! I never used to have a problem with my skin but in the last two years it's became so reactive x

Mine is the same :( dry but then reacts to everything I put on it. Lately it's been getting better and I've been using that primer for about 2 weeks, haven't had any problems with it. Hopefully you will love it too :)

I have sensitive skin and cannot wear silicone primers so I have been using Tarte's flawless primer and really love it.

Thanks Courtney. Will bear that in mind and look into tartes too. I'm in uk but think you can get that on eBay x

That's a good point Courtney. I also avoid silicone, it's drying and my skin doesn't like it at all. They tend to use it in mattifying primers more so but primer for dry skin is harder to find IMHO

I recommend tarte's flawless silicone free primer to everyone who has sensitive skin. Silicone dries me out so bad all the dead skin just gets trapped and I end up with those little bumps on my forehead.

Quick question Courtney, do you get those little bumps by your chin as well?

That sounds great too! It's oil paraben and silicone free. I'll have to try and hunt it down online! Thanks everyone for your help!

@Alma M. I don't typically get them on my chin but on my cheek sometimes. I finally asked my dermatologist what the bumps were because they weren't blackheads/whiteheads. They are basically clogged pores and once I switched primers...they disappeared.
Silicone basically blocks your skins ability to breath and naturally slough off dead skin cells. So the dead skin cells remain in the pores where they build up and eventually create pimples, sebum plugs, etc.

I was wondering if it was an allergic reaction to the silicone,I pretty much know what silicone does but was wondering since my daughter had an reaction to just chap stick and got all these little bumps around her chin and around her mouth it was strange.

@Alma M. It could definitely be an allergy. I apply most of my primer forehead/cheeks and that's where I definitely got the repercussions.
