Well to grow healthy hair you want to cut off split ends every so often. I use an olive oil-sugar moisturizer before I shower, and that makes your hair stronger. The best thin you can do is be patient.

If you want to help grow it is to have a healthy diet, stimulate the folicales, like with peppermint oil for example, and try to stay away from heating it unnecessarily much.:-)

What talia said !!!!!! ALSO DO NOT CUT YOUR HAIR, if you want long hair what is the point of cutting it, if you want it long? Having long hair is a hassle and expensive. I have learned the hard way, do not dye your hair while growing it out you will damage it. Be prepared to dish some cash out. Sulfate free shampoo is your new best friend, same with vitamins. Rub oils like olive and coconut in your hair along with hair masks, every night even. I started investing in my hair and it is getting much better. P.S haven't cut my hair in almost two years.

Well you can't "repair" split ends so you actually should TRIM your hair if you have a lot because ultimately it will sabotage your efforts.
Cutting does make hair GROW faster but getting rid of breaking ends helps you to RETAIN the length that you do grow.
So I would say first get rid of dead ends then adapt a healthy regimen w/ little heat styling, gentler products, less chemicals (perms, dyes, etc) and more deep conditioning treatments & scalp massages

Getting your hair trimmed stimulates hair growth. If you want to have fresh hair with little damage, I recommend getting your hair trimmed. It is a complete misconception that by not cutting your hair for years means that it will grow more.

Michelle has a good point, cut off the ends if they are awful at the start of your growing process so they don't get worse over time..
Jasmin how does cutting your hair stimulate hair growth... No my hair has not grown more by skipping the hair cut, but my hair got longer by NOT cutting because I'm not cutting off the length. Your hair grows average half an inch every month, if you get a trim every two months, your basically cutting off that inch you just grew making the growing process twice as long! So no, your hair isn't growing faster, your just cutting it off!
