I can't say much since I haven't used most of their products, but I regret buying a lipstick from them (chatterbox) it dries my lips out like crazy! :/

When I first started using makeup, I was ALL MAC EVERYTHING. I discovered Sephora when I was in 7th grade and it was all down hill from there. At Sephora, you have different lines to compare between. Not to mention, if you're struggling with something like oily skin, primer decisions, to even your daily skin regimen, you will be able to find products that work for YOU!

Depends! I am a huge fan of MAC lipsticks and the Skin Finish Natural, but find that I rarely use their eyeshadows anymore as I think there are better alternatives.

It's all personal preference. I'm in love with MAC, but I know a lot of people who don't like it. Try it out, go and see if you can get some samples or have them try it on you.

I really love MAC lipsticks. It kinda depends on what your buying tho and what works for you.

I think it depends on what you're looking for. I love their brushes, blushes, lip glosses(glass), lipsticks, shadows and pigments....lol almost everything....but definitely go with a list if you can't spend a lot because then you might go crazy while you're actually at the counter!

There are some truly fantastic products that come out of the MAC brand, but it's gone down hill since Estee Lauder purchased it. Someone mentioned them not being on the same page as Smashbox, but Estee owns them too now. MAC is a gimmick. As much as I have some much loved products through them, they don't have to advertise the name does it on it's own because of over hype. They do have fantastic color range available, but the consistency of what's rolling out is hit & miss. The last few years they have slightly increased their costs to try and move in to the high end price points, but the products haven't reflected as well. They're in the habit of rolling out massive product collections over quality pieces (example: 2 holiday collections just came out, and 2 more things roll out first week of December). The back 2 MAC program is fantastic and it's how I have 95% of the lipsticks in my collection/kit, & the Viva Glam profits go to a great cause. Overall, there are amazing things, there are average things, and there are sloppy things.

Depends on what you're looking to buy. Lipsticks, gel liners, paint pots are great and I'm sure their eyeshadows, blushes, brushes, foundations, and lipglosses are great but for those I think there are quality and cheaper alternatives but you can't beat their lipsticks, gel liners, and paint pots. I'm not amazed by anything else.

Hit or miss honey. My best advice is this. Look at MAC and look at other brands and COMPARE. For example, I have a bunch of MAC eye shadows but now I use Inglot eyeshadows (they are better and less expensive) When it comes to Lipstick MAC is solid, but you have brands like Nars and Illamasqua that offer a different range of stuff. I say MAC is hit or Miss. Some things are amazing, others are sub-par. the fun in shopping for makeup is the actual shopping so take ur time and do not always listen to what the MAC artist suggest to you. Ive got so many friends who have bought stuff from MAC bc the makeup artist told them they look amazing and they never wear it again or it looks horrible when they put it on. MAC is good but MAC is not the makeup God or above any other HE brand.

I agree with quite a few of you here, I love the Lipsticks I own about 25+, the Lipliners are great as well, Brushes are amazing, Pigments, Paint Pots, and Fluidline also. The Mascara I do not care for I can always smell it for some reason, and dont get me started on the foundation not a fan at all, to me it seems like every kind turns orange, oily, and clumps on my skin. Fix Plus is nothing but scented water, and the Pro Longwear Lipsticks are the worst lipsticks I have ever used. I have been using MAC for around 14 years and the quality has gone down big time, also things I really do like shades etc are always discontinued. As for the eyeshadows they are never true enough to how they look. I love so many Indie brands as well as what I find in ULTA. Inglot is my main makeup of choice at the moment.

The only way to find out is to experiment and compare. most eyeshadows will work well with a good primer. primer is SO important. I've used and have MAC shadows and they didn't work as well pigment wise and last all day. You can literally use drugstore or BH Cosmetics or Coastal Scents which are very pigmented and super cheap. I hear people say MAC is inexpensive! um depends on your budget!!! BH & coastal is CHEAP. As for MAC foundation/concealer, I could never use because it so heavy and clogs my pores BUT it has GREAT Coverage! So many factors to consider. I wouldn't use MAC for everyday.

I feel like you can buy three drugstore products the price of one Mac, and even one of those drugstore is the same or better quality than Mac..

Yes it's not the best make up brand out there but if you are looking for good quality make up then yes it's worth it...but not their liquid foundations
