Make sure you clean new earrings before you wear them. When my ears start to hurt I clean the hole with peroxide.

Try cleaning your earrings in contact solution and take a qtip and clean your ears with the solution too before putting the earrings in. Also you could be allergic to whatever kind you are wearing. Try hypoallergenic or stainless steel

Your ears are probably to sensitive for fake earrings. Try putting some Vaseline on the hooks. You can also paint the backs with a clear nail polish or change the hooks to sterling silver or gold ones.

Maybe you can only use real silver or gold?
any fake jewlery might irritate you

A lot of costume jewelry contains nickel...you may have sensitive ears and are "allergic"...use earrings for sensitive ears or stick to silver/gold earrings...if you must wear costume earrings wear them for short periods of time...hope I helped :)

I always used rubbing alcohol until I got my nipples pierced and they told me to clean it with contact solution. And it makes complete sense to me

I have the same problem you'll probably just have to wear gold or silver earrings none of the cheaply plasticky ones.

This is my trick. Clean the earrings and wash your hands. Then get a clear nail polish and coat them all over where is metal. And let it dry. I coat all my fashion jewelry and you can't see it's coated.

Landyn F.
Okay I will try that.

I just pierced my ears last year and the right one had so e problems. I took some triple antibiotic ointment and put a tad on my finger. Then I stuck the earring in it and pushed thru my ear. It worked better than I could ever hope for. My ear piercing literally healed overnight. Now when I take them out for a few weeks and go to put them back in they go right in bc they are totally healed inside the piercing.

You might have a nickle allergy. I can't wear costume jewelry either because its what I have. I can only wear.925 sterling silver or gold.

Don't put vaseline on the earings. Youre probably sensitive to something in the earings and vaseline can actually cause more infections.

You're probably having a reaction to whatever jewellery is in your ears. Go and buy some new studs from the chemist :)
