I went all natural and for six months straight after I cut my hair off I did nothing to it or put nothing in it and then I straightened it and didn't use any heat protection and now every time my hair is wet after I wash it or if I sweat it smells real burnt but when its dry it doesn't and I keep washing and washing it the smell won't come out.

Usually the day after I do my hair it smells like that but I wash it once and put my oil and it's gone...

For me, it took a long time. Leaving a deep conditioner in your hair for a while helps. You might try spritzing perfume on your hair or using a scented product before you straighten. I usually spray my blow dried hair with perfume and when I flat iron it, it smells amazing! You may also need to clean your straightener because the natural oils from your hair build up. Hope this helps! 💗

I've did all of that but when it gets wet or I wash it regardless of what shampoo or conditioner it stanks and even if I get a little sweaty.

I'm sorry! :/ I know it's frustrating. How long has it been now since you straightened it last?

Like Christmas eve or something like that.

Try not to spray your hair with perfume, it dries your hair out badly. I would recommend a good smelling heat protectant. :)

Apple cider vinegar helps my locks stay fresh.

Won't that dry it out?

Maybe its the hair wash that you use doll? What kind do you use? I've gone au natural for a year and straightened without heat protectant.

Maybe try doing a clarifying wash with baking soda and water, have you tried?

No how does it make you're hair feel? Does it dry it out?

Its an alternative to shampoo, so I don't think its drying considering its used for the no-poo method. It won't strip your hair of the oils it needs unlike a regular shampoo. It could also be the water.

Yeah but nobody else in the house had stinky hair but me lol. I don't know I was going to try to do a hot oil treatment to see if that will work.

Try doing a deep conditioning treatment then, it makes no sense why your hair would smell burned. What did you use to straighten it?

Just a regular straightener and that heat protector I posted a picture of.

I would definitely do the clarifying shampoo with bs... just to get products out of your hair, I would rinse it maybe 2 times depending on how strong it is. And I would do a deep conditioning treatment for HOURS, making sure it has a scent that you like... then I would really deep condition the hair in the shower, leaving it in at least 5 minutes.

When you use coconut or caster oil do you leave it in you're hair?

To help recover your hair try a protein filler and good conditioner with natural ingredients if possible
