I am 18 and have never really worn makeup besides the basics. I.E. Mascara/eyeliner. I was wondering how to transition from barely any makeup to a nice natural look to show a more older look.

If you need help with application as well as finding what works best on you, I suggest heading to a counter and telling them what your "makeup history" is. They can show you some basics and you can have someone experienced demonstrating what to do. If that isn't an option, check on YouTube for natural looks and see what products and techniques are being used. That way you can incorporate what you like best into your routine, and you can practice at home until you feel confident in showing your new look. Since you said you want a natural look, you won't need much to get what you want. Good luck!

I would agree with Courtney B about checking out a makeup counter for help because it can be daunting putting all that makeup on at once. However, don't let them push you into buying something you're on the fence about because a lot of people in department stores can be really pushy. If a Sephora is close, go there because they are generous with samples and are not as pushy in my opinion.

Oh yes, Melissa is totally right and I forgot to mention that. Don't buy anything you don't feel comfortable with, no matter how nice or aggressive the sales person may be. It's your money and your face. Asking for samples and about the return policy just in case is always a good idea.
