I heard toothpaste helped with pimples. So I tried it overnight, and I woke up with this scabby , dry skin patches. Looks like a sunburn. I really need help to get rid of it??

Yeah the toothpaste only works if you have a special kind. Maybe put some ice on it to help with the redness and then moisturise.?

Thank you. Do you think polysporin would work??

If you used gel, it won't work.
The main reason some toothpastes work is because they contains baking soda. Baking soda drys the pimples out. I suggest you make a paste of baking soda an water to get rid of pimples, but to get rid of your current skin problem I'd say maybe aloe vera?

Toothpaste is not for your skin!! No matter what anyone says, it is bad. It might dry your pimples, but it can also irritate your skin and make it worse than it was before. Just use a blemish treatment like Burt's Bees or Clean and Clear!!

Yeah that's a myth. Regular toothpaste can burn you. Especially your face, be careful with "natural" cures for acne. Most, if not all are false. There are natural masks you can use to help but not overnight cure. Only medicated treatments can cure.

Toothpaste years ago used to have an ingredient that helped with pimples. But now that ingredient is not used anymore so toothpaste will only burn your skin and make it worst. Use aloe vera to heal your skin.

The way they used to make toothpaste is different from the way they make it now. That's why it used to be true but now sadly isn't.

If you want a spot treatment for pimples, use a clay mask. thats what they are for. toothpaste has 3 major ingredients: a highly alkaline soap, an irritant that gives the illusion of fresh breath, and an abrasive that damages the skin. not to mention if it has baking soda in it thats even worse. skin is naturally acidic, when you introduce highly alkaline substances to it you are damaging the quality of your lipid layer. this basically means your ability to retain moisture. if you damage it too much your skin will be super dry and flaky and be resistant to any lotions.
