Ok, I'm about to chicken out. I want highlights to make a fun change to my hair, got my appointment already BUT...
I have very long hair. It's very thick and hard to style, it tends to be dry and I'm scared that the bleaching previous to the coloring of the highlights is going to damage my hair, since it's so long.
Can any of you beauties give me some light on wether the process is indeed that damaging, or alternatives that might not be that aggressive? Thanks a lot!

What Sammy said. As far as the small amount of damage to your ends since it is so long.. Have them highlight first & then give your ends a trim. That should take care of any damage that will occur although a small amount!! I say go for it!! Highlights are a fresh change in the dreary winter months & they'll give you a healthy summer looking glow<3

Either way, if you're processing your hair you're doing some damage to it.
Is it going to be super fried? It depends on how light you're taking them but I doubt it'll be destroyed. Just invest in a good conditioner and if necessary a good purple shampoo to maintain your highlights. Also have her sheer/thin it out beforehand.

Thanks Sable, I will! I don't want them to be that pale, my hair is brown, I guess it looks better if they are not that different to my hair color.
