What actually is contouring and highlighting? Does everyone do these on a daily basis and what difference does it make? I hear a lot about them but haven't a clue what they are about?

Contouring defines your cheek bones and gives more definition to your face and highlighting kinda does the same it makes your cheek bones appear higher and also your eyebrow arches. I contour my cheeks daily and it makes such a difference! And I always highlight under my eyebrows and just above for a more defined eyebrow xx

Contouring is creating shadows on the face to make the face appear more defined. You can anything matte, darker than your skin and cool toned- bronzer, foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, etc. highlighting brings areas forward and make them more prominent. You can use products a couple shades lighter than your skin. There are some highlighters that should only be applied to top of the cheek bones, brow bone because they contain sheen or shimmer. As you see, it's a magical concept lol.

Most people don't do it, actually. It's on the rise with beauty gurus and makeup lovers because Kim Kardashians makeup artist posted a pic of him highlighting and contouring Kim's face. Me, I only highlight my face under my DIY tinted moisturizer. It's apart of my daily routine. It really does make a difference.
